Labour MP Butler also asked if people will need to prove their birth sex. “I don’t know if anyone else in the House has butch lesbian friends, and have been with them when they’ve been told to get out of women’s toilets, but I have. And it is not pleasant and it is not nice,” she said.

Phillipson said: “Lesbians should not be treated in a discriminatory way and we must ensure that there are toilets and facilities available for everyone within our country.”'

Am I being unnecessarily paranoid or is she implying separate toilets for butches???

Fuck. That was a very short lived hope that it would take time, and test cases, before organisations started banning trans people from the right bathrooms. Apparently we've got till the summer.

I'm a cis butch lesbian who has been challenged in bathrooms and has no way to prove my cis-ness (BECAUSE NO-ONE HAS A WAY TO PROVE THEIR CIS-NESS). I don't want to use the ladies' toilets etc if bigots are going to challenge me more. Quite apart from not wanting to patronise any organisation that capitulates to discriminating in this way.

Fuck.
