Sure, it's annoying if you cannot pay with card at a restaurant and have to carry cash. But should restaurants be forced to offer electronic payments? Absolutely not. Electronic payments are still an insufficiently regulated oligopoly that uses the old two-sided market argument to avoid regulation which would lower costs for merchants. How did Visa and friends convince and to make forced cashless payments a part of their coalition agreement?
