Näin juuri suosituksen, Facebookin korvaajaksi #diaspora. Luulen, että mulla saattaa siellä tilikin vanhastaan olla, mutta sisään en ole logannut 10+ (?) vuoteen. Onko jotain kommentteja suomi-diasporasta, onko käyttäjiä, ja mitenkähän sen vanhan tunnarin löytää.

O sea, no dudo que "en teoria" lo tengas entendido ya, solo que estas llamando a ramas arboles y a peras naranjas y eso después puede regenerar confusiones, al menos en los demás.

#elFedi -> #fediVerso es la totalidad de plataformas y dentro de ellas, cada una de sus instancias.

#activityPub es el protocolo, el idioma que hablan la mayoría de las plataformas y la razón por la que los dos estamos comunicándonos aquí y ahora. De hecho ay hasta "dialectos" de activityPub, algo que incluso nos puede generar problemas ya que llegan momentos que se dificulta la interaction por interpretaciones diferentes de opciones. Pero eso solo como un comentario aparte para mejor ejemplificar las circunstancias.

#friendica, donde estoy, por ejemplo no habla solo activitypub, si no también el protocolo de #diaspora, la primera red exitosa del fediverso y por lo tanto desde acá también puedo hablar con contactos "de antes" que aun pasan lo mas bien en su red diaspora. Ademas friendica habla #email, e incluso tiene un conector #bluesky. O sea, en teoría, si quisiera, podría publicar un tema que se publica en el fedi hacia diaspora y todas las plataformas que entienden activityPub y admeas publicar por correo electrónico e incluso hacia bluesky (y tumbler y wordpress ..). Eso sin embargo es una particularidad que solo friendica, y su primo hermano hubzilla saben hacer, ya que es a lo que se dedican, a ser "multilingue".

En el fondo en el sentido de terminos es algo interesante porque me pregunto si estamos en una red activitypub, en la red del fediVerso o si tu estas en la red mastodon y yo en la red friendica.

It's the end of an era! Back in 2011, my friend Joe told me about #diaspora, an alternative to #facebook with no ads and good privacy. I joined Diasp.org, and was on it... until today, as that pod (instance) has just closed.

I am grateful to David the 'podmin' for running the pod for so long. He didn't want it to be a service, but rather a springboard for people to have control over their own data and #SocialMedia interactions. (Insert lecture about the European #socialism that built the #fediverse )

Several friends joined Diapora back in the day, I think @redfern was among them. But it never took off among my peers, not enough to displace facebook. And of course, #Mastodon later appeared, and is now far larger than D*.

Still, I have a soft spot for Diaspora. I found another pod and will stay there (too) for now. But it won't be the same, you never forget your first non-commerical social media account! I spent time looking through all my old posts and downloading photo, ah, #nostalgia! 😢

Hello everyone,
More and more pods are shutting down and even if the code to allow an account to migrate from one pod to another is not officially merged yet (see the merge request), I didn’t want to stay without doing anything. So, I enabled it on my pod, diaspora-fr.org, which means that you can now move there, keeping with you your previous messages, photos and contacts.

I provide this feature with no guarantee, if your content is not properly migrated or anything else is not working, I won’t fix it. But it seemed to me that because pods are closing, we had almost nothing to lose anyway. Except that the import can’t be undone and can’t be retried later in the future. If you want to wait for it to be more tested, export your archive and try it later, not now.

If you still want to try this, follow those steps:

  1. From the settings, export your data and your photos in two backups from your actual
  2. Log in to diaspora-fr.org (if you don’t have an account on that pod yet, create a new one)
  3. From the settings, click on the import button and upload the two archives in the dialog.
  4. Be patient while the account is being migrated. Do not resubmit the import even if the import button is still available. It is running, just be patient.

If your pod is already offline (framasphere, joindiaspora, poddery…) but you downloaded your archives before it switched off, you can skip step 1 and migrate

I hope this is useful to some people.

Remember, diaspora* is what we are making out of it, it can stay alive if we want to. We just have to get involved.

Just as how most AfroAmericans cannot be traced directly to only being Yoruba, Akan, or Congolese, most EuroAmericans cannot be traced directly to only being English, German, or French. We associate the word Diaspora with people who have been scattered by circumstance, the African diaspora, the Asian diaspora, the Jewish diaspora—and so we don't usually speak of a European Diaspora. Yet when you look at the history of colonialism, not all the colonists were signing up to cross the ocean out of patriotic fervor for Mother England, many were poor, drafted by the military, or of an ethnic or religious minority. Especially in the 19th century, the European immigrants were not too dissimilar from the Chinese immigrants. It was American racism that privileged them over the Chinese, not socioeconomic class. It would be accurate to say that there is a European Diaspora, with diaspora cuisine and gestalt cultures. EuroAmericans are, arguably, a distinct cultural group, and they identify with "white."

Um genau zu sein @reticuleena verfehlt dein Post, upps .. dein tröt, sry .., das Thema denn du schreibst #fediVerse und sprichst von #mastodon. Das ist so sinnbefreit und selbstzerstörerisch wie mastodon zu schreiben und mastodon.social zu meinen. Als @courage'erin dürftest du verstehen was ich meine. Warum nicht, auf #diaspora funktioniert sie super gut (edit: auch wenn mir gerade auffällt das es die dort gar nicht gibt und das Ambiente dennoch oder deswegen (?) dort super gut ist (oder war)), mich täte es nicht stören und die Diskussion über #interNetteEtikette und Verhalten hier bei uns ist:

  • a)
    Eh verloren den "die" schlagen mit ihrer erworbenen Twittermentalität alle hier in Scharen auf, sind mehr und bevor wir die wieder gerade gebogen haben, haben die uns bereist X-mal um die Ecke gebracht.
  • b)
    Geht unsere dezentrale Idee, unser Ansatz, davon aus das er uns die Möglichkeit gibt die verschiedenen Internetkulturen so weit zu entzerren und zu trennen das wir alle möglichst friedfertig neben einander co-existieren können.
    Sprich: "Leben und leben lassen" sollte wieder möglich sein.


Ansonsten nicht nur an dich eine persönliche Empfehlung die bei einem friendicaPromotionsgespraech mit @mina just vor ein paar Tagen auftauchte:
Jede Plattform hat ihre Stärken und Schwächen. Mastodon ist ideal zum chit-chat. Und wenn du einen friendicaKonto hast das deinem mastodonKonto folgt bekommt das jeden Tröt den du kommentierst, fav'st oder boostes in die Timeline gespühlt. Sprich, mastodon vom Handy zum fast and furious und friendica vom Desktop zum dezidierten Liebeschenken und und vernünftigen Texte aufsetzen.

Last but not least:
Eine reshare Funktion für mastodon ist mir ehrlich gesagt schnuppe. Ich bin hier mittlerweile seit ~vierzehn Jahren ganz pragmatisch auf dem Trip nicht nur einfach das zu nutzen was die jeweilige Software mir bietet, sondern immer wieder work arounds zu finden für das was es nicht oder noch nicht gibt. Das ist so schön unbequem das meine "to think out of the box" Kapazität exponentiell ins unermessliche gestiegen ist. #Kruse nennt das Kreativität, ein Mehrwert der kaum zu ermessen ist.

Drükos sind und waren Drückerkolonnen und ich war bereits hoch erfreut das "wir demnächst Drückerkolonnen fürs #fediVerse bekommen", denn genau das brauchen wir. Auch wenn wahrscheinlich nur @padeluun eine solche Idee und ihre Konsequenzen vollumfänglich verstehen würde ..

Vielleicht findet sich da ja nach etwas gemeinsamen Nachdenken eine ähnlich gute Lösung, wie bei den (hoffentlich bald kommenden) Drükos.
